How do I know if my device is compatible with P9 USB-C hub?

Can I use P9 USB-C PD port for data transfer or video output?
No, P9 USB-C PD port is for charging only. It does not support data transfer or video output for devices like external hard drives, headphones, speakers, or monitors.
How much power does P9 USB-C hub consume?
When connected to a PD wall charger, P9 USB-C hub consumes 15W. For example, if you use a 100W charger, only 85W will be available to charge your laptop.
Why is my monitor not displaying correctly when connected to the hub?
Ensure your device’s USB-C port supports Display Port Alt Mode for video output. If you experience signal interruptions, check your screen resolution and refresh rate settings and adjust them accordingly.
Can I use the USB 2.0 ports for external storage devices?
USB 2.0 ports are suitable for mice, keyboards, and basic USB drives, but for high-speed transfers (e.g., external hard drives or SSDs), use the USB 3.0 (5Gbps) port instead.
Are there any known issues with MacBooks?
Yes, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro (2020 models) may have USB 2.0 compatibility issues due to macOS system bugs. Other MacBook models and computers do not have this issue.
Can I unplug or plug in the PD charger while using P9 USB-C hub?
We do not recommend unplugging or plugging in the PD charger while using the hub, as it may cause:
- Device disconnection
- HDMI display issues
- Data loss from external USB devices
Can I use P9 USB-C hub to charge an iPad Pro or phone?
Not suitable for pass-through charging tablets (such as iPad Pro) or phones when using the original wall charger. To support full-speed charging for iPad Pro, please check if the adapter supports 65W.
