Intpw P9 USB C Hub (9-in-1)

This is one of a few ports that includes a USB-C port for data transfer. Most have a USB-C port for power transfer only. The ports are a bit stiff on flash drives but I’m thinking as they get used they will loosen up a bit. Another major positive is the longer than most cable. Most USB ports have a very short cable. The cable on this unit was plenty long enough to reach behind my iMac.

Purchased for my son’s laptop because he needed more usb ports. He seems to like it and he has additional ports for additional equipment he may add to his laptop in the future.

This hub works perfect for my MacBook Air. It’s lightweight, the ports functions just fine. It’s good quality. I have an external hard drive and second monitor hooked up to it and haven’t had any problems!

Easy to use.

Good product. Works right out of the box. I've also got 72 Hz support on the monitor. This comes with power indicator which is useful.

Just over a year since I purchased and hdmi port is no longer working, so don’t buy if you are looking for longer term reliability.

My PC only has one USB port, so I have always had to disconnect the mouse and to use an SD card reader. I now can use my SD card, my mouse, and an external hard drive at the same time. It is not only a great time saver, but a versatile tool that is worth the cost. Working with various media/connections is a now an easy and efficient process.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
So I was originally drawn by the sleek and matching design that matched my MacBook. I also have a on off USB plugged into this along with my studio equipment and mouse which connected everything flawlessly. Never seems to skip or lose connection when using everything simultaneously.

It seemed to struggle when it had more than one thing plugged into it. I had a usb wireless mouse and 4K monitor plugged into it for use on a MacBook Air. The mouse worked fine. Then I plugged in a hard drive, and the mouse would get glitchy, like you’d see when the batteries are dying. Transferring photos from the computer to the hard drive was also surprisingly slow.

I tried it on two MacBooks and got the same results. If I plugged the mouse into a second usb hub, that seemed to solve the glitchy problem. So if it’s not the mouse or the computer, it must be the hub.

I expected more out of a $30 hub.

It works fine after making sure everything is plugged into the right port. However, it's hard to call it a USB-C hub. It actually gives you no more USB-C ports than you already had since one of the ports on the front is used to power it. That leaves one USB-C slot to use on it. It shows that in the description, but I read it quickly and didn't think about it before I pulled the trigger. Not a deal killer, but if you want multiple USB-C slots this isn't the one to choose.

Just opened this hub. I’m liking it.

the SD and micro SD reader on the back of mine do not register any card put into them, I have to use a SD to USB adapter to get them to register.

The USB ports are ok, however sometimes a device needs to be re-seated when inserting in order to get it to connect/register

Amazing

I added this USB hub to my 2018 Mac Mini. I immediately connected my USB-A external hard drive and it immediately mounted. I haven't tried the SD port readers or other USB-C ports just yet but I don't expect any issue. The hub is extremely well made and looks good directly under my 27" monitor.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
I like the longer cord. It helps with the connection.

This item has all of the ports that I need at this time. Before writing this review, I used it in every possible way that I would ordinarily have to use it. And, it passed every test with flying colors! It is compact, so it doesn't take up much space on my desk. And, it is a good-looking item. It would have been even better if the SIM ports were located on the front of the hub. But, for the price, it is a great addition to my Mac Mini. Highly recommended!
