Intpw YH6AC Powered USB Hub (9-in-1)

I've used an intpw hub before, but that was way back in the USB 2.0 days, so it was definitely time for an upgrade. As someone who relies on multiple hubs to keep my MacBook Pro M2 Max running efficiently, I’m always on the lookout for high-quality, reliable expansion options—especially since Apple only gives us three ports (seriously, why?). When this 9-port USB hub became available for review—and considering my positive experience with a previous intpw hub—I jumped at the opportunity. Setup & Initial Impressions Currently, I have two devices connected to the hub: ✔ An HDMI adapter to extend my setup with a third and fourth screen (I keep my Mac closed behind two of my monitors, plus I have a drawing tablet with a screen) To check its performance I ran a 2TB SSD drive, which normally hits 2000MB/s when directly connected to my Mac, but as expected, there’s a slight speed drop when running through the hub. With a write speed of 952 MB/s and a read of 500 MB/s. However, since I don’t typically access that drive at full speed anyway, the performance difference is negligible. I initially tried plugging in an 18TB external hard drive, but unfortunately, it wasn’t working on my other hub either, so I’m not faulting this hub—just praying the drive isn’t dead! Performance & Features 3 USB-C ports (2 with power) 6 USB 3.0 ports for expanded connectivity 2 powered ports – I tested it with my iPad Pro M2, and it maintained full battery while in use Works with SSD drives – My 2TB USB-C drive worked flawlessly for video editing and file transfers Mac & iPad compatibility – I haven’t tested it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I assume it works there as well Design & Build Quality I love the sleek aluminum and white design, which reminds me of the previous intpw hub I owned. It looks great on my desk, though I had to strategically hide the cables since my cat loves to chew on them. (Luckily, my laptop has its own litter box—priorities! ) Final Thoughts If you need more USB-C and USB 3.0 ports, this hub is a fantastic choice. It offers strong performance, multiple powered ports, and a clean, stylish look that fits seamlessly into any workspace setup. Highly recommended for Mac, iPad, and multi-device users!

This is a convenient device primarily useful if you need more ports or different connections. I have a Macbook Air with limited ports and I use a DVD drive (usb A) as well as an SD card reader (usb A). Using this, I don't have to be switching cables in and out. This also allows me (with one of the two "power only" ports) to power my clock/radio/wireless phone charger. The compact size works well on my desk. The price for this unit seems competitive for the features and quality.

I'm sure I"m not the only one in abundance of USB cords and connections. As it's becoming evermore standard to be using USB for lighting, charging, connecting and almost everything electronic doodad that needs power, it's creating a need to condense. Problem with that is there are so many sizes and power output necessary I wind up daisy chaining splitters. This is a solid solution to paring down. First of all it plugs into the wall giving full natural power to some of the ports that need it. Aside from being a station for several USB-A and USB-C slots it also is a hub to your computer or laptop. One USB-C is included that plugs into the side to your computer. You can go straight without the using the wall plug for taking on the go or simply not needing the extra power. The shape and design is sleek and has a futuristic design with a textured bottom to prevent from sliding. This is the way to truly get the most out of your devices and relieve quite a few cords.

This is by far the best hub I have ever used. Good USB hubs are extremely important to me because of the nature of my work. Fast transfer speeds, no freezing issues, and no unwanted reboots are exactly what I want. This device truly performs, delivers consistent results, and works flawlessly with more demanding USB devices such as external hard drives and high-power peripherals.
