Intpw YH6AC Powered USB Hub (9-in-1)

I've used an intpw hub before, but that was way back in the USB 2.0 days, so it was definitely time for an upgrade. As someone who relies on multiple hubs to keep my MacBook Pro M2 Max running efficiently, I’m always on the lookout for high-quality, reliable expansion options—especially since Apple only gives us three ports (seriously, why?). When this 9-port USB hub became available for review—and considering my positive experience with a previous intpw hub—I jumped at the opportunity. Setup & Initial Impressions Currently, I have two devices connected to the hub: ✔ An HDMI adapter to extend my setup with a third and fourth screen (I keep my Mac closed behind two of my monitors, plus I have a drawing tablet with a screen) To check its performance I ran a 2TB SSD drive, which normally hits 2000MB/s when directly connected to my Mac, but as expected, there’s a slight speed drop when running through the hub. With a write speed of 952 MB/s and a read of 500 MB/s. However, since I don’t typically access that drive at full speed anyway, the performance difference is negligible. I initially tried plugging in an 18TB external hard drive, but unfortunately, it wasn’t working on my other hub either, so I’m not faulting this hub—just praying the drive isn’t dead! Performance & Features 3 USB-C ports (2 with power) 6 USB 3.0 ports for expanded connectivity 2 powered ports – I tested it with my iPad Pro M2, and it maintained full battery while in use Works with SSD drives – My 2TB USB-C drive worked flawlessly for video editing and file transfers Mac & iPad compatibility – I haven’t tested it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I assume it works there as well Design & Build Quality I love the sleek aluminum and white design, which reminds me of the previous intpw hub I owned. It looks great on my desk, though I had to strategically hide the cables since my cat loves to chew on them. (Luckily, my laptop has its own litter box—priorities! ) Final Thoughts If you need more USB-C and USB 3.0 ports, this hub is a fantastic choice. It offers strong performance, multiple powered ports, and a clean, stylish look that fits seamlessly into any workspace setup. Highly recommended for Mac, iPad, and multi-device users!

This is a convenient device primarily useful if you need more ports or different connections. I have a Macbook Air with limited ports and I use a DVD drive (usb A) as well as an SD card reader (usb A). Using this, I don't have to be switching cables in and out. This also allows me (with one of the two "power only" ports) to power my clock/radio/wireless phone charger. The compact size works well on my desk. The price for this unit seems competitive for the features and quality.

I'm sure I"m not the only one in abundance of USB cords and connections. As it's becoming evermore standard to be using USB for lighting, charging, connecting and almost everything electronic doodad that needs power, it's creating a need to condense. Problem with that is there are so many sizes and power output necessary I wind up daisy chaining splitters. This is a solid solution to paring down. First of all it plugs into the wall giving full natural power to some of the ports that need it. Aside from being a station for several USB-A and USB-C slots it also is a hub to your computer or laptop. One USB-C is included that plugs into the side to your computer. You can go straight without the using the wall plug for taking on the go or simply not needing the extra power. The shape and design is sleek and has a futuristic design with a textured bottom to prevent from sliding. This is the way to truly get the most out of your devices and relieve quite a few cords.

The hub feels well made and works as advertised. My only small concern is that the two PD USB-C ports don’t deliver the same charging speed—one gives 5,240 mA and the other about 4,250 mA. Both still fast-charge my phone, but the difference between the two ports is noticeable.

Product power supply has a wire short or bad connection rendering it useless. After contacting the seller, a replacement power supply was promptly sent. Hub is now functioning properly.

Just got it today and followed simple plug n play instructions. Super nice quality! My razer mouse and keyboard came right on along with my backup drive and new lighted mouse pad.

I purchased this USB hub to help organize my workspace, and it has been a great addition to my desk. It provides plenty of ports for my devices and helps reduce cable clutter, making my work area much cleaner and more efficient. The build quality feels solid, the connections are reliable, and it’s very easy to use. I especially like how it keeps everything in one place instead of having multiple adapters scattered around. Overall, it’s a practical and useful accessory that has made my workspace more organized and productive.

This has one limitation you should be aware of, but if you are ok with that I think it's just about the perfect desktop USB hub. The one slight annoyance is that only one USB-C port passes data through. There are three USB-C ports, but two of those are power only. The good news about those, however, is that they can charge comparatively fast : I was able to get at least 40 watts through them. So, setting all that aside, it is otherwise great. Lots of ports, some of which are indeed quite fast. It is an excellent form factor for desk use - very easy to access the ports and insert/remove devices. I've done long file copy operations and it maintained high speed the whole time. It comes with some plastic-ish feet on the bottom but I do not find them to be very non-slip. I ended up using some of those micro dots that crafters/scrapbook people use to secure it to my desk and now it never moves at all when accessing devices. It is a bit pricey to be honest but for the amount of usability it brings I think it's worth it. I own two of these : one I bought a year or two ago and another I got through Amazon Vine and I have never regretted the one I purchased. If you need a lot of connectivity (Though primarily USB-A) and want something that can be a permanent fixture of your desk it is nearly perfect.

This is a well-made powered hub. Delivery was same day (awesome) and arrived undamaged due to excellent packaging. Upon testing, all of my ports worked with no problem. The silver color matches perfectly with my iMac (see photo) and it sits very nicely under the iMac screen on the pedestal. I like the slanted design, which makes it easy to plug and unplug your USB cables. There are plenty of ports, including 6-USB and 3-USB C ports. All USB ports can charge as well as be used for data. 3 of the USB ports move data at 5 GBS and 2 of the USB ports move data at 10 GBS. 2 of the USB-C ports are for charging only and 1-USB C port is for charging and data. I plugged in a USB portable thumb drive, and it was recognized immediately with no issue. I am not running any other disks off of this hub at this time. Not only that, but I was pleasantly surprised by post sales support. I had a question on submitting my warranty registration using their website. I emailed them and got a response within 2 hours…very good considering this unit is from China. They only design issue I have is that the power plug and USB C connection cable comes out the side of the unit. I would have preferred it to be off the back of the unit in order to hide the cables better. I would purchase this Hub again.

I like the wedge design and the aluminum case, it feels well made. There are (2) USB C power ports, (3) 10Gbps ports and (4) 5Gbps ports. If you have a bunch of peripherals straddling generations of tech, this is a good powered hub. Its weakness as a product is that USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4 are pretty common now and are faster, so this is what I call a transitional device. It's at the right price point to connect the stuff you have now, but it's not future proof. The extended life of these devices comes from needing to attach a bunch of older stuff conveniently. If you aren't chasing the newest stuff this is a decent choice for connecting to your stuff.

I got this USB power hub to upgrade a USB 3 one I've been using for some time now. This one has fewer ports overall, but a more powerful mix of USB 10 gig A and C ports, which performance seems to be as expected with a USB 3.2 connection. Additionally the USB C ports seem to provide a true 20V connection meaning you can plug in tablets and laptops and successfully charge them, as well as fast charge smartphones. However the total 60w power budget is low so you will not charge them very quickly, but this is still a big perk since a lower voltage would not sustain any charging capability. Overall I'm very pleased with the power and data transfer speeds.

I had a problem. My monitor array at home includes a Thunderbolt hub that includes two DisplayPort and one VGA connector, and my laptop at home includes one HDMI and one additional VGA connector, but this totals only 6 screens when my laptop's primary screen is added in. My monitor array, on the other hand, includes yet another 6 screens (all but two of them are 1080p). These screens are driven by a set of mostly DisplayLink display adapters, although I have a few others that required manually installed drivers (with varying success), and some that don't advertise DisplayLink but whose drivers installed automatically anyways. Six USB-A Display adapters require a lot of power, and I ran into the limit of my workstation and Thunderbolt hub's power capacity at only 4 additional displays, and every single USB-A and USB-C port on my laptop and my dock were used up, leading to a messy snarl of wires and cables that wire ties just didn't resolve. What I like: 1. It allows me to connect my entire array of video extenders and power my entire array of monitors. It substantially cleans up the mess of cables connected to my laptop and hub by putting many of them in one place. 2. Its aluminum finish looks good on my desktop. 3. Its power supply is rated for 65w, telling me I can connect more devices before its capacity is exhausted. 4. It has a sturdy construction. What I don't like: a. Ummm, that's a tough one. Maybe it takes up additional desk space and there are a lot of cables connected to it, but hey, that's kind-of the intent. Nah, I can't say I dislike that. Caveats: - Your results may vary if you plan to use this to drive a large array of screens. My laptop has 64GB RAM and a second video card with another 6GB video RAM. I have a newer laptop at work with 128GB RAM and a second video card with 16GB video RAM that can't run my home array without overheating.

So far so good. Definitely helps free up some ports on my computer. Definitely recommended.

I use a mini desktop with limited USB ports, so this USB hub is essential. It provides 6 USB-A 3.0 ports and 3 USB-C ports (one power-only), offering many connection options. High-speed USB is important since I back up files to external hard drives and the cloud, and all ports have worked well after several weeks. My wireless keyboard and mouse work without lag, and data transfers between external drives are also smooth. The metal hub comes with a power supply and cables, feels sturdy, and stays in place thanks to rubber pads.

Please note if you are buying this to charge your iPhone or IPad while using peripherals like an audio interface, this will not work, I spent hours trying every combination of connecting this and was only able to charge my iPad, my interface would only get recognized if I bypassed the hub. The usbc on the side does not provide power. Probably works great as a computer hub, but for mobile devices it becomes a power brick only. They need to be clear about this in the description, I am returning. It does feel like a quality unit, the aluminum case has some heft to it and it lights up nice. I really like the angle of the ports also, I really wanted this to work.
