I've tried this plugged into an older laptop that only has USB2 ports with a USB-A to USB-C adapter. Everything worked well (of course all the output ports only delivered USB2 speeds). In this configuration I was also limited to only a total of 500mA power out distributed to all the USB output ports (because the USB2 specification has a maximum delivery output of 500mA). So plugging USB devices into it that had higher power requirements (or too many power hungry stuff plugged in) caused the plugged in devices not to work properly (due to not getting enough power). This would have been solved if this device could be powered by a separate power supply... but alas there is no provision for this. BUT keep in mind this device was not meant to be plugged into a USB2 port like I tried. So I cannot complain about this... But I can still say it would have been nice.... Connecting the HDMI output to a spare monitor allowed me to have a second screen for my laptop. This laptop runs Windows 10 and I did not have to install any drivers... it configured on it's own.

Plugging this into my latest mini desktop PC which has USB3 ports (but all USB-A style) I also had to use a USB-A to USB-C adapter. However connected to this machine the USB outputs all worked as expected. I had no issues. Likewise connecting a spare monitor to the HDMI output allowed me another monitor on that computer as well.

In either hook up test, I was easily able to plug in a read various SD and micro SD cards I plugged into it.

I did NOT try to charge any USB devices using this docking station. According to the specifications, I would have to plug this into a USB3.2 port in order to get the higher power needed to use the rapid charging features.

It has a solid metal case and a robust connector cable. IS it worth the current listed price of CA$59.99 ? I'd say yes,,, or at worst close enough not to matter. If you were to buy a separately a USB 3 hub, an SD card reader and a USB to HDMI video card, you would likely spend a little more than this. So looking at it that way.. this is a good deal. If you have a newer PC (newer MacBook even better) with a USB3.2 port which this device was designed for, it should work even better than it did for me. That being said I still think it's great.

This USB hub works well. It lets me connect numerous devices to my laptop or phone through one USB C port, so yes it does need its own power supply. I just plug it in and I have extra USB ports, an HDMI output and a slot for memory cards. It has fast data transfer and 4K video output. The design looks nice and modern, would recommend it to anyone who needs extra plugs.

This USB-C hub has 9 different ports including HDMI for connecting to a monitor or TV, fast USB ports, SD card slots and a charging port useful to keep everything charged and connected at once. The HDMI port supports 4K at 60Hz giving clear and smooth picture on my monitor. Transferring files is also fast. I moved large videos and photos in just a few seconds. The SD and TF card readers are perfect for camera files. The two USB 2.0 ports are slower but work fine for a mouse or keyboard. There is also a 100W charging port that keeps my laptop powered while I am using the hub. The hub has a nice angled design and feels sturdy. Overall, it is great USB-C hub to for ports and fast performance.

Despite the many advantages of using a laptop, the limited availability of USB ports has always been a problem. Thus, I was pleased to come across this multiport adapter, which has made it a cinch to connect my iPhone, flash drive, iPad, and external hard drive to my MacBook. What’s more, the device is lightweight and compact enough that I can carry it with me throughout the day whenever needed. My only complaint is that files can now be transferred at such lightning speed that I have little time to doodle on my notepad or sit back in my chair to daydream. Now that the hub has become part of my laptop’s daily repertoire, I have no idea how I got by so long without it.

This is one of a few ports that includes a USB-C port for data transfer. Most have a USB-C port for power transfer only. The ports are a bit stiff on flash drives but I’m thinking as they get used they will loosen up a bit. Another major positive is the longer than most cable. Most USB ports have a very short cable. The cable on this unit was plenty long enough to reach behind my iMac.

I purchased this for my Lenovo Legion 7 Pro, since it only has 2 Type C and 2 Type A USB connectors. So, this gives me multiple connections for my gaming peripherals.

Works as advertised, and I have to say, I put it on some double sided tape and it is STUCK to the table and I can pull cables in-and-out with one hand.

So, yeah, works perfectly well. A great investment.

Great USB port extender

This hub works perfect for my MacBook Air. It’s lightweight, the ports functions just fine. It’s good quality. I have an external hard drive and second monitor hooked up to it and haven’t had any problems!

Easy to use.

Purchased for my son’s laptop because he needed more usb ports. He seems to like it and he has additional ports for additional equipment he may add to his laptop in the future.

Good product. Works right out of the box. I've also got 72 Hz support on the monitor. This comes with power indicator which is useful.

My PC only has one USB port, so I have always had to disconnect the mouse and to use an SD card reader. I now can use my SD card, my mouse, and an external hard drive at the same time. It is not only a great time saver, but a versatile tool that is worth the cost. Working with various media/connections is a now an easy and efficient process.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
So I was originally drawn by the sleek and matching design that matched my MacBook. I also have a on off USB plugged into this along with my studio equipment and mouse which connected everything flawlessly. Never seems to skip or lose connection when using everything simultaneously.
